Counselling and Psychotherapy Clinic – specializing in work with Military Personnel (Active and Veteran), First Responders, Domestic Violence and Sexual Assault
As a retired firefighter and military veteran, Ida-Marie founded Source of Strength Healing with a clear mission: to create a safe, inclusive, and supportive space for individuals impacted by trauma. She understands firsthand the challenges that come with service—the highs, the losses, and the lingering impact that’s often difficult to explain, let alone process. Her goal is to provide a haven where first responders, military personnel, and survivors of domestic violence and sexual assault can feel genuinely heard and begin their journey toward healing.
At Source of Strength Healing, we offer trauma-informed counselling and psychotherapy to individuals across the lifespan. Our clinical approach is grounded in compassion and evidence-based practices, with a specialization in emotional and somatic processing. We are currently completing certification in EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing) to deepen our trauma recovery work, with expected completion mid-summer 2025.
Our multidisciplinary team includes registered clinicians, practicum students, and mental health coaches, enabling us to provide accessible, personalized care to meet a wide range of needs and budgets. Whether supporting youth, adults, or Veterans, we are committed to fostering a space where healing, growth, and transformation can take root.
Our mission is simple: to help you find your source of strength and heal—because no one should have to carry their pain alone.
